Our service area covers more than 400 square miles in Southern Middle Tennessee.
- We currently provide service to St. Joseph, Five Points, Center Point, Leoma, Iron City, West Point, Fall River, and Ethridge exchanges.
- We serve over 5,000 customers with Fiber, High-Speed DSL, and Voice and Long Distance services.
- We’ve completed of over 450 miles of distribution fiber and 100 miles of ring fiber.
Our Legacy
Loretto Telecom has a rich history of being community-focused, recognizing the importance of connectivity in enhancing the lives of our residents. Over the years, we have evolved to become a pillar of support for Loretto, offering telecommunications services with a deep understanding of the unique needs of our local residents and businesses.
Our roots are deeply seeded in Loretto, dating back to 1897 when the Pruitt family built several telephone lines from Iron City to Lawrenceburg, TN straight through Loretto.
Former Loretto postmaster, William H. Wiggerman, later purchased those lines and established the Citizens Telephone and Construction Company. Wiggerman’s daughters later served as the first switch operators, working out of a house by the railroad tracks on Commerce Street.
Loretto would eventually be sold several other times leading up until 1946 when Ralph and Louise Passarella purchased it.

Telephone lines were built straight through Loretto from Iron City to Lawrenceburg.
1946
Loretto Telecom was purchased by Ralph & Louise Passarella.
1947
An Ice storm sent all but one telephone pole crashing to the ground, forcing a complete rebuild.
1952
The first dial phones were installed in Loretto, the same year they became available in the United States.
1952
Iron City Exchange became part of Loretto Telephone Co.
1955
The Passarellas purchased the Leoma exchange.
1956
1958
New dial exchange offices were installed, and service was expanded to Leoma.
1967
Loretto Telephone Co. became the first in the state to offer touch-tone telephone and direct long-distance dialing.
2018
Loretto Telecom was acquired by SkyBest Communications.
2023
Loretto Telecom services around 5,000 customers with telephone and internet service.
